We hold many events throughout the year, including Christmas and Summer Fairs, International Evening, Quiz Night, School Disco and the Salusbury Social to name a few.

Smaller-scale activities and one-off fundraisers happen all the time too. If you have any ideas for a new event or fundraiser simply turn up to one of our monthly meetings, or email [email protected].

Cake sales – A rota of year groups sells cakes after school in the playground most Fridays.  These raise nearly £2k a year for the school and are organised by the class reps.  Click here to see dates and classes and how much has been raised in previous cake sales.

Salusbury Stomp – A bi-annual sponsored walk in Queen’s Park that has supported refugee charity Salusbury World (2009) and our twin school in Mbollet-ba in The Gambia (2011).  The most recent Salusbury Stomp was on 22nd March 2013 and raised over £10,000.  If you want to be involved in the organising of the next one or want further information contact Steve Haggard ([email protected]).

Salusbury Runners – A group of parents has raised over £34k in recent years by running the British 10K in aid of Friends. This has funded the canteen floor and playground equipment. In 2012, the group raised money towards redeveloping the school playground.  If you want to be part of it this year it takes place on 14th July – email Emmanuelle Bigot ([email protected]).  But hurry, places are going fast!

Auction nights – In 2008, £19k was raised to help create Greenspace, our school garden. A 2011 auction raised over £20k to save our school-based charity, Salusbury World from closure.

Book swap – Children bring in a book from home to swap and all children come away with an exciting new book to read.

The Big Chalk – An annual event to coincide with Arts Week where all children are armed with chalk and decorate the playground, walls and often themselves with drawings and writing.

Friends do not organise every event but we do financially support a number of the activites (e.g The Big Chalk and Arts Week).
